Built for the Road
A tool built by an IBEW electrician, for IBEW electricians. No fluff, no corporate sponsorship — just the information you need to make a smart decision before you throw your tools in the truck.
Intel for Traveling Electricians
DragUp is a community-powered directory of IBEW locals across the United States and Canada. It gives traveling wiremen the real information they need before they show up at a hall — wage scales by classification, book status broken down by Book I (local members), Book II (travelers), and Book III (outside classification), work outlook, job calls, contractor details, and hall contact info.
The name comes from what you do when the work dries up at home — you drag up and go find it somewhere else. That process has always relied on word of mouth, phone calls to guys you know, and a lot of guesswork. DragUp is an attempt to make that a little less painful.
The site currently covers locals across the US and Canada with wage data, book status, and contact information — and it grows as members submit updates. Every submission helps the next guy making a decision about where to go for work.
Community Maintained
Base wage and contact data is sourced from public records and union pay scale publications. Everything else — work outlook, book counts, job calls, contractor details, classification wage breakdowns — comes from members in the field who submit updates through the site.
Got a job call to report? Use Quick Post — takes about 30 seconds and puts the call on the map for anyone watching that local. Got a full dispatcher report? The book count update tool lets you enter counts for every classification and zone in one shot.
There's also a community on Reddit at r/Official_Drag_Up where members share intel, ask questions, and help keep the data honest. If you're out on a job or visiting a hall, take two minutes to submit what you know. That information is worth something to the next guy considering that local.
Something Wrong? Got an Idea?
Bad data on a local? Hit Update on that local. A missing local or a feature you wish existed — shoot us an email at info@dragup.org. This site is built to serve the membership and the only way it gets better is if people say something.
